You may think you know what your audience wants to read
Good quality takes time to create. It takes time to implement. And it takes time for Google to acknowledge that quality. As Google continues to prioritize the user experience in its algorithm, this data can become critical. It’s one thing to provide a list of items that generally lead to a better user experience (like we did above), but it’s another thing completely to be able to address extremely specific elements of that experience. There are a number of on-page optimization strategies that can improve a website’s competitiveness within search engines. On regular pages and posts, Google will most probably grab a piece of related content, including the keyword used in the search query. That makes a lot of sense for news sites, for example. Still, I recommend adding a meta description to all your important pages. It’s a little reassuring, too, that some things we make online have a chance to endure.
Design + reporting = Greatness
As we know Google’s algorithm updates primarily focus on devaluing links that aren’t relevant. The added advantage to local link building is that these kind of links are almost always relevant. Boilerplate content is a fact on the web with many many sites, espesially sites that do rank well and are very credible. Google handles it, you don't really need to worry about the boilerplate content, Google can figure that part out. Write “linkbait” articles that will attract the attention of social networks. These articles can be valuable resources, controversial, or humorous. SEO allows you to capture demand when a searcher may not even be familiar with your brand name. With the nature of today’s online world being so vast, a business needs to work longer and harder in order to gain the recognition it deserves.
Establish your position regarding RSS feeds
People often click away from a site if they do not get what is suggested to them; some SEOs call this “the scent; the essence of truthiness.” Unfortunately, black hat tactics against competitors will sometimes work enough to sink their site temporarily. The days of self-serving, scammy, and spammy SEO are long-gone. And that’s a good thing. The ‘secret’ to success with SEO is no secret at all. Just focus on serving your audience’s needs and answering their questions in a thorough and empathetic way. In our experiences, we’ve seen lower-tier eCommerce websites increase organic search traffic by as much as 50-100% by simply rewriting product descriptions for half of the website’s product pages–with no manual link building efforts. Keyword research can be done using free tools. I have some Twitter accounts that only exist to automatically feed me the information I want on a certain topic. A few words on indexed pages
If you want to populate on the first page of Google organically and improve your SEO, patience is what differentiates the pretenders from the contenders. A great example that I like to point people to is Oxon AA. And the major definitive terms in your query are keywords. Prefer information-rich pages over pages that lack content. Over the years many people have tried to game the system by creating content that is stuffed full of keywords in the hope that repeating their keyword phrases over and over again will in some way get them to the top spot of Google. While this tactic may have worked in the 90’s and early 2000’s it is time to put this to bed and stop creating content that is written solely for the search engines. These search engines have evolved and now recognise and reward natural language so the best piece of advice is to write naturally and for humans. Progressive SEO means technical, analytical and traditional marketing all rolled into one.
Myths and misconceptions about link research
I have seen growth hacking competitions where small paid campaigns were used for either research or lead generation. The unfortunate answer is – yes, it is a content issue. To optimize your search engine results it is important to make your URL easily identifiable. Include words that are relevant to the site as opposed to numbers and symbols. People will recognize those keywords in the URL, and are more likely to click on your link if they think it will bring them to a relevant page.
